Man Dies After Fall Through Night Club Window

April 13th, 2010 by Ian

Three men fell through a glass window last week at the SAR Club on the Gold Coast after a reported dispute over a mobile phone. The three teenagers plummeted nine metres to a concrete area below, which resulted in serious injuries to two of the partygoers and the death of the other. Investigations are continuing into the tragedy but it is believed that no charges are expected, as the disaster will be classified as an accident.

This incident highlights the dangers of glass protecting a fall from heights and is an example of what can happen if glass is broken in elevated areas. Although this appears to be a freak accident, glass in homes and businesses can be subject to human impact from time to time. Children playing near glass or even accidental falls by adults can result in this type of accident. All glass breaks, however laminated glass is the best prevention for this type of problem because it holds together when broken.
