Glass consists of the raw materials sand, limestone, soda ash, dolomite, iron oxide and salt cake, which are combined under extreme heat to create molten glass. The molten glass is than poured into a tin bath making a continuous ribbon of flat glass that is cooled slowly to produce perfectly smooth surfaces on both sides. The last step in production is to cut individual sheets from this continual ribbon of glass and stack them in block form or cased ready for delivery.
